AI & Machine Learning for Subsea Cable Data

BPP Renewables has developed advanced machine learning techniques that combine cable engineering algorithms with statistical methods to find patterns in massive amounts of subsea cable performance data to deliver a cable health indicator via Red-Amber-Green traffic light alerts. The system also accumulates cable thermal and electrical degradation data to deduce cable ageing as well as inform operations and maintenance decisions.

Outputs:

• Cable performance in real time-based rolling charts with control and action limits
• Red-Amber-Green status display, based on control and action limits, as a high-level indicator of cable health

Quarterly & annual reports which provide a detailed summary of last operating period including:

• Faults experienced within any period
• Out of range operating events
• Recommendations on cable risk & future operations
• Estimated residual cable life
